“TABLES OF SIX” DINNERS: Periodically throughout the year, on Saturday evenings, we have our “Tables of Six” dinner program. Several volunteer hosts open their homes and provide the entree for dinner; and five other guests are randomly assigned to each table, and bring the rest of the food and drink for the meal. Our next ”Tables of Six” event will likely take place later this Summer.
POTLUCK DINNERS: Several times each year we sponsor informal potluck dinners either at church after Sunday Mass or on a Saturday evening at the home of one of our members.
“NIGHT OUT WITH THE NATS:” Dignity/Washington will again this year be partnering with “Team DC” and other LGBT groups for the annual “Night Out with the Nats” baseball game, at Nationals Park, on Tuesday, June 22. We have purchased a block of tickets for our D/W group, and will be selling them ($20 each) after our 6:00 PM Mass at St. Margaret’s Church on each of the Sundays preceding the game date.
DIGNITY/WASHINGTON’S ”CAPITAL PRIDE” ACTIVITIES
Washington’s 2010 “Capital Pride” festival takes place on the weekend of June 12 – 13, and Dignity/Washington is again a “Community Partner” in sponsoring the event. We plan to march as a group in the Saturday evening Pride Parade, accompanied as usual by our Defenders LLC members, and hope you will all join us. We’ll also have a D/W booth at the Sunday afternoon Pride Festival, and invite you to stop by and see us. As part of Dignity/Washington’s Pride Weekend celebration, we will be hosting Fr. John McNeill at our Dignity Center, from 10:00 – 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 12, for a lecture on his most recent book, “Sex As God Intended: A Reflection On Human Sexuality As Play.” The lecture is free; all are cordially invited; John will sign copies of his book; and, refreshments will be served.
