On Sunday, January 21, there will be an educational seminar centering around inclusive language and exploring sexual orientations and gender identities in 2018. Recently, the membership of our national organization, DignityUSA, voted to include the words “queer” and “intersex” in its Statement of Purpose. There was some dissent to the idea due to the previous connotation of “queer” and the lack of education surrounding the intersex community. Please join Dignity/Washington President Vin Testa, in his role as LGBTQ Liaison for DC Public Schools, for an evening of education and clarification.
On Sunday, February 11, will be a community discussion and forum centering around the upcoming DignityUSA jubilee celebration. The hope is to have a panel of past D/W presidents included, but comments and participation from the D/W community are most welcomed. The focus during this first discussion will be around “the past.”
Both of these events will take place in the social hall of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church and will begin around 7:30 pm. Please join us for both.
